Author of "Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs and Wear Cows" to Speak in Orlando

Interested in learning more about the compassionate aspects of a plant-based diet? Thanks to Gretchen at What a Healthy Family Eats for sharing information about two upcoming events centered around the book Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs and Wear Cows.

First, author Melanie Joy will be speaking about her book on Saturday, March 19th at 6:30PM at UCF. Her presentation will focus on the psychology of eating meat, as well as how meat production and consumption impact our bodies, minds, society and planet.

A vegetarian (and vegan-friendly) dinner will be provided at no cost at 6:30PM before the presentation begins at 7:00PM. Copies of the book will be available for $13. To RSVP for this event, please go to the Meetup site for Vegetarians of Central Florida.

And once you have your book, use it to join in on a discussion of the book on Wednesday, March 23rd at 7:00PM presented by A Better World Book Club at Raphsodic Cooperative Company (remember those yummy vegan goodies I blogged about on Sunday???)

I have both events on my calendar . . . who's coming with me???
