Vegetarian Guide to Your First Marathon

I've been following the No Meat Athlete (how great a name is that?) for a few months now, so I was excited to see him announce the release of the No Meat Athlete Marathon Roadmap: The Vegetarian Guide to Conquering Your First 26.2.

The guide includes an e-book, a 24-week training plan and a sample meal plan with 18 vegetarian recipes (all with vegan options). Also included are MP3 interviews with Ironman athlete Brendan Brazier (author of Thrive) and Ultraman competitor Richard Roll, as well as contributions from a variety of authors and bloggers known for combining peak athletic performance with a plant-based diet.

If you've ever had the marathon goal in mind, this sounds like a great place to start. Though I did most of my running in my pre-vegan days, my three most recent marathons (including a back-to-back half marathon and marathon on consecutive days) were fueled by a plant-based diet.

  4. Polenta question is the same as tofu. I made some, used garlic and Italian seasoning then put on a loaf pan. Been adding to greens and shrinks and assorted stiff that I am stir frying on olive oil. What else do I do with it?
